Thanks to a reader for sending the tip. I called Mixt Greens Wed. afternoon and they confirmed that Wed. was the “last day of operations” for both remaining DC locations (the F St, NW location closed in Feb. ’11 and is now a Roti.) The two remaining locations were in Dupont at 1200 19th Street NW and by Farragut North at 1700 K Street, NW. Those are two prime locations so we’ll def. keep an eye on them to see who moves in.
Will anyone miss Mixt Greens?

I'm not sure who all these people are who are suggesting to park at DC USA. I just...
Work across the street. Business never appears to be THAT good (ie saddest bar/club I've...
Sure, transfer the title, registration, and insurance to someone who doesn't own or drive...
Mat, Thanks again for your support; and your point is well taken.
"Used to live," not "used the live." I hate blackberrys.
I miss hearing the wild cats...
I started working in Dupont a few months ago and quickly became a regular at the 19th St Mixt. Too bad. I liked everything but the long line.
If people were lining up to eat there, why are they closing?
No one goes there, it’s too crowded.
Quit stealin my lines.
i went here once at the line was ridiculous and wasn’t moving. at least the line at sweetgreen moves (sometimes)
Why does their website list both of these locations then?
If you were closing multiple business locations, would immediately updating your website be your top priority?
As someone who works in the industry, if we change an item on our menu, updating the website is a top priority. Customer service is a priority.
I’m shocked that a company closing shop on the east coast with obvious cash flow issues doesn’t have an IT person.
It didn’t seem to get good reviews.
I was a big fan of Mixt Greens, although they could get pretty pricey. Great, fresh ingredients with a lot of variety that is hard to find at other lunch spots. I wonder why they couldn’t get their act together.
High cost of goods and high rent.
They had a window of 3-4 hours to make 600 salads. Didn’t happen.
No.
Should I feel bad if I never knew these restaurants existed?
You don’t win friends with salad.

And this is why this new comment setup really needs a “like” button!
No loss. This high priced salad thing can’t last.
I am disappointed — thought their salad choices and high quality ingredients were better than the competition. Lines were long – but they moved. And I just tried to get there before noon, and no problem. Too bad….
Salad sucks. There, I said it.
I’ve noticed that if I go with friends to a place like this (or Chopt) for lunch, I tend to smile and look around and murmur vaguely supportive things about it, the way you do when you see really earnest unattractive people supporting a cause about which you don’t really care, but really I am thinking about when I can leave to go get some real food.
lol , +1
It was like Chop’t if Chop’t suck’d
But Chop’t does suck.
Also, I have issues with inappropriate apostrophe use.
what’s inappropriate about it?
There is no reason for it to be there.
I’m with jburka – the ‘ is better to me than the use of the t, but thanks for answering!
You can easily argue that the “t” is inappropriate. But at the very least the apostrophe stands in for the second “p” as well as the “ed.” Making it utterly appropriate.
But, when creating a contraction out a word that is not appropriate for contraction you are creating a spelling and gramatical error. Granted, it’s just for advertising, but I have a problem with this use of an apostrophe.
Also, Toys R Us needs to turn that R around.
I really hope it gets replaced with a restaurant that serves breakfast cereal or a Comfort One Shoes or a place where I can eat shoes filled with breakfast cereal.
This is a huge blow to me. By far my favorite salad place.

oh man. that’s too bad. I liked it a lot. Roti isn’t great, btw.
I’ll miss it. It was a great salad place and the lines always moved quickly. I noticed recently that the lines at the 19th st. location were smaller and smaller. I used to get out of there for under $8, which was just a little more than subway, but a whole lot better.
I have mixt feelings..
Grammar did’em in, don’t ya know?
