what do they mean when they say students will receive community service credit? Is someone keeping track of DC students’ community service? (I mean, besides those who have court-ordered community service.)

Yes. DCPS kids are required to do a certain amount of community service.

      • I thought all school systems had a community service component at this time? We had to do at least 10 hrs a semester or our grade would be lowered one letter grade (10 pts) and that was over a decade ago.

  • that’s the shittiest poster i’ve ever seen

  • I hope there will be a good turn-out for this. Thanks to Irene I can’t go this time, but at least the weather will be nicer!

  • Glad our fearless leader has not missed an opportunity to promote his “ONE CITY” slogan through the legacy of Dr. King…

    • “One City” invites us to come together, similar to what MLK would have done; not be divisive and offensive, like you are being, jerk

Please do not call people jerks – disagree and debate is normal – insults are not acceptable and will be deleted in the future (as they have been in the past.) This is just a reminder to please be civil. Seriously, c’mon – don’t make me write this stuff over and over again.

  • Mayor Gray has quite some agenda! Let’s move on from the corruption charges and focus on this important, although meaningless sit down! Let’s stand together with him when he’s arrested!

  • I really don’t want a vote in Congress for the District. But I would really support a movement to reduce/ eliminate federal taxes for DC residents.
