Jackie Lee’s Lounge is located at 116 Kennedy Street, NW. A recent liquor license says that it it a:
“Restaurant and nightclub serving American cuisine.”
I imagine the walls here could tell the most amazing stories we’ve ever heard. And I’ve now found one of my new favorite city signs:

*unfriend*
Ever read a police report, especially when you were a victim or witness?
My spouse...
A lot has changed in this neighborhood since you lived here four years ago. Sure the area...
Just moved into my new condo in dc and it's been over two weeks and I still have not...
It's summertime, school is out and it's the weekend. Wife and I were comnig home last...
I drive by this place all the time. Does this mean they currently do not see liquor? It never looks too busy there, but I assumed it has been around for a while by the signs.
Maybe it’s time to have a PoP meetup at Jackie Lee’s?
this place looks cool. kennedy street is going to be very cool someday. good bones.
Jackie Lee’s definitely does have potential. The food is good and the minimal wait staff that’s currently there is nice. While the inside is attractive (if not a little cheesy), the entry way and facade certainly need improvement. When we were there, they were not serving liquor. I understand this place does have a storied history. Back in the day it was fun and the place to be, in more recent years, they ran into trouble. Here’s hoping they find their former glory.
It was serving liquor as recently as 2007, but was only open on weekends and for special events. It does have a very storied history and was a semi-famous jazz joint back in the early 60′s. The interior is somewhat reminiscnet of the Player’s Lounge in Congress Heights (dark, dj booth, small bar with naugahide chairs).
