Update on Boilermaker Shops in Navy Yard/Capitol Riverfront

It’s become a complete skeleton. See what it looked like in April ’11 here. And today below -totally wild:

More info on retail and restaurants coming to the space here.

  • sweet about a mile from my house. So bus it or walk it. Like being equidistant to h street and navy yard.

Are you in the Eastern Market area too? I swear, it’s getting to a point where I’ll NEVER have a reason to venture into NW.

  • Kev29

That NRG Brewery is going to be epic.

  • a bit much

So excited for all my fellow SW/ Near SE’ers. This could be a game changer for the whole area.

As a Capitol Hill resident, I’m excited for myself as well, since it’s all just a short Circulator ride away!

I am so excited about the 24 hour diner!!! Now they need to put night clubs in that area to replace the gay ones they demolished so that club goers can get a bite to eat after they dance

  • Jim Ed

Once all this stuff opens, they need to extend the Circulator from Union Station to the Navy Yard open even later.

The people demand public transportation for drunken late night diner runs!

    • Anonymous

I agree. I also think the end point for the Circulator should be extended even further along the waterfront, maybe up to 12th Street. Right now if you want to make an evening run to the fish market, or see a play at the Arena Stage, or go to the Safeway, you have to cross South Capitol and walk past a few very sketchy blocks.

      • Jim Ed

Well, it might be a pain in the ass, but you can jump on the metro there at the Navy Yard and the next stop on the green line is the waterfront. Seems silly to take metro half a mile, but you do get to pass what can sometimes be a sketchy walk down m street.

  • Bdale Res

Hopefully all will be operational by next baseball season. Excited about this, but also bummed that my consistent free parking spot around the corner is something from a by-gone era.

  • Denizen of Tenallytown

Looking good! Pretty exciting to see retail on the waterfront other than in Georgetown and Maine Ave.
