“Dear PoPville,

This may be a little late but I was wondering if you were planning or would put up a post about Halloween going’s on tonight. I was curious if there were any fun gatherings around town tonight for halloween and didn’t know if other readers had the same question.”

For the kids we have the 11th Street Halloween Extravaganza. But for those that are going out – what do you have planned? Any good bar specials/parties?

  • get drunk in a wig

  • Definitely looking for events! I went out friday, couldn’t make it out saturday, hoping to have a good time in costume tonight! Thinking Red Palace maybe but I have never been. Has anyone been to an even there before?

  • It’s mostly geared toward kids, but Lamont Street in Mt. Pleasant has a cool little block party every year with trick-or-treating, costume contests, etc.

    • There are some pretty serious partying adults at that event as well. Mostly, we walk around with plastic cups of wine and “supervise” our children. ; )

  • Come over to Parker Flats! We’re hosting our second annual haunted house for all the local kids. This year’s theme is an insane asylum. Candy and games for all. Sure to be a scary good time. 2035 2nd Street NW, at Elm (between U & V).

  • Halloween on Lanier Place- Monday, Oct 31

Just a reminder that Lanier Place will be closed from 5:00-9:00pm tomorrow for the neighborhood’s annual Halloween event.

That means no driving or moving cars from parking spots on Lanier Place during those hours.

    Monday, October 31st
    5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. LANIER PLACE ONLY

Due to temporary street closure for neighborhood Halloween event
Lanier Place will be closed from Quarry to Ontario Rd, and also from Ontario Rd to the Firehouse.

No one will be able to drive on these sections of Lanier Place between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., based on a permit approved by the city.

Cars already parked on these sections of the street do not need to be moved.

Ontario Road will not be closed at the Lanier intersection. But traffic may be
    slowed due to the event.

    Enjoy the evening.

  • I think Lanier between Ontario and Quarry is also closed off for the kiddies in Adams Morgan.

  • Halloween on Lamont!
    Lamont Street ‘tween 17th & 18th

Little ghosts & goblins of all sizes will descend on MtP and gather on Lamont Street for a whole variety of spooky activities… free goodies, music, costume contests, & scary stories. (If you park on Lamont, please move by 5pm.) Boo!

Any zombies who would like to help with set-up lurk at 17th & Lamont just before sunset. Arughhhhhhhh!!!!

  • Note they key words – BARS AND PARTY SPECIALS. I’m in the market for some sort of NON-FAMILY-ORIENTED party myself. any suggestions on bars, throw-downs, shenanigans would be greatly appreciated

  • I went to Meridian Pint on Saturday night to try some of the pumpkin beers they had on tap! They have 15 (I think) and they were quite tasty. We pooped out after trying 7.

  • I meant to include- that they still should have them on tap tonight!

  • Just curious: Do you give candy to older teenagers with no costume and to adults with small children who also stick their bag out?

    • yes.. who else are you going to give it to? however, tell the 14 year old with no costume on his cell phone to hang it up or put on a mask
