While the sign on the door says Galileo III has simply closed for renovations – the Washington Post reports:
“The restaurant that was supposed to resurrect Roberto Donna’s sagging fortunes has now contributed to his decline. The celebrity chef confirmed this afternoon that Galileo III at 600 14th St. NW has officially ceased operations.”
Galileo III was located in the old Butterfield 9 space. I’ll keep my eyes on the space to see who will/what will take over.

Will not be missed.
Good riddance. Dodgy dodgy dodgy.
I concur with the previous comments. My firm had its holiday party there last year and the service was a disaster. The head waiter was quite rude to me and I was the party coordinator. I had heard Donna’s last few ventures went down because of service. You would have thought he learned his lesson.
Expensive and horribly overrated.
I predict Roberto Donna will be back with another upscale eatery in 18 months. He has no choice. He has creditors to avoid paying.
Dude needs to go get a job as a cook someplace. He’s made it clear time and time again that he’s a terrible businessperson.
Left without eating 45 minutes after ordering. My first and last visit. RIP
