  • Great! I hope they get it so I’ll have a neighborhood pub around the corner. You’ve gotta love, though, the signs with competing spellings: Hokah v. Hookah!

  • Too bad the incorrectly spelled one looks to have been the more expensive and permanent one of the two.

  • looks like a dump

  • I’m with Steve. It does look like a dump. I actively dislike second hand fruity tobacco smoke but do love live jazz. Do we know what kind of cuisine the “light food” will be ?

  • I took a friend of mine from Chicago there two Thursdays ago. The place was empty, but the smoke was great and the women serving us were friendly and attractive. Not that they were busy, but they took extra good care of us, changing coals without us asking, etc. The one bowl went strong for at least 90 minutes’ worth of use, which I can’t say about a lot of other hookah places I’ve been. I hope this place doesn’t close, because it’s so nearby and more relaxed than the hookah experiences I’ve had in Adams Morgan.

  • Very relaxed atmosphere, could use a little local support from the playa hata crowd once in a blue moon. Great service and not bad prices considering the amount of smoke time and the quality of the hookah, etc.
