I’m gonna be honest – I picked this one because I was intrigued by the address…

$2800 sound right for this 2 bedroom?

  • What are the boundaries of Mt. Vernon Sq. anyways? I’m not sure this would qualify. I think it’s more like Logan Circle?

  • I think this is a bit undermarket for the building.

  • Def. not MV Sq. It’s one block west of the Convention Ctr neighborhood — Logan Circle I think is right.

Anyway, I’d say it sounds right — nice quiet neighborhood, modern interior, etc.

  • Too bad it’s not a 1 bedroom!

  • this building is really nice. seems like a very good deal

  • Seems high, but probably justifiably so given that the parking space is probably worth a few hundred a month in that area.

  • that is one sweet commute downtown.

  • How can anyone afford to live in this goddamn city? And who thinks paying $2800 for 900 sq is reasonable? I’m convinced all the “it’s undermarket” comments are from landlords and real estate speculators. Puke.

    • there are a lot of neighborhoods that are still affordable, and by a huge margin, most people in the area live outside dc proper.

    • I couldn’t agree more…I suspect there are plenty of lawyers, plenty of students from wealthy families, and recent grads of those same families…but geez, aren’t most folks policy and non-profit and whatnot? I’m a federal employee with some student loans to service and typically these “rental option” posts just blow my mind…

    • $2800 a month is easy if you’re two people, each making 100k

  • That’s fair for that area (by fair, I mean I think it’s ridiculous for the neighborhood and wouldn’t in a bajillion years pay that much to live there but about the going rate). Strange about the neighborhood though. I’d think calling the location Logan Circle rather than Convention Center would be much more of a selling point.

  • I never understand why, when people see that it is expensive to live in a really nice completely-walkable-to-everything building with a concierge and parking, they jump to the conclusion that the entire city is way too expensive and that nobody could afford to live here. It makes no sense at all to me. Obviously, some people can afford it, you just cannot. But, many can not so they will have to forego at least on of those ameneties. That is how life works, anywhere.
