Best Spot for a Morning Cup of Coffee and/or Mojito

This great one from near U St, NW reminded me of the one in Bloomingdale that we looked at a couple of weeks ago.  This one even has a rug which really ties the whole patio together…

  • Let’s hope no one miterates upon it.

Wouldn’t the rug make it the best spot for a morning cup of coffee and/or white russian?

  • I’ve passed these houses and wondered about those grates and how I probably wouldn’t like having them in my front yard – the rugs are a good looking cover up! But… I thought those were air vents/grates, so blocking them up might be a bad idea?

  • how do you think the furniture has managed to remain on property? i feel like a chair or a table would get stolen at some point… kudos, looks lovely

  • Nice patio, and nice Lebowski reference. 🙂

I too am (pleasantly) surprised that the furniture hasn’t been stolen.

We have a similar setup, minus the rug. The first thing visitors say (if they live in DC) is “how has that not been stolen yet?”. You’d be surprised– our street gets a ton of foot traffic but nothing’s been lifted from the front yard. I did chain the big pieces to the gate but there’s not much you can do about the cushions and little stuff.

Thievery concerns aside, these sets really are nice for the front yard. We spend so much time out there, our next door neighbor joked that we’ve added an extra room onto the house.

  • Oh look how fabulous that looks… Way to go Jack and Michael!

  • Nice Yard, Boys — where’s my invite for that mojito?

  • Thanks for the recognition! We’ve been fortunate that the furniture has been in place for over 3 years. We’ve had a pillow taken every so often, but other than that everyone has respected our property. We get a lot of enjoyment from it!

PS Melanie, these aren’t air vents so no problem there!
