Thu, 07 Jul 2011 13:03:03 +0000 http://www.princeofpetworth.com/?p=40699#comment-361430 agreed it’s a terrible deal. and i live (relatively) close to there. it *is* walkable to both metros, but definitely not in 10 minutes! i live a few blocks north of there (closer to ft totten) and it takes me about 12 minutes to get to metro. to get to Brookland (and Petworth, for that matter!) takes ~20 minutes. Walkable, sure, but not really commute-friendly length. The one thing going for this place is that it’s on the H8 line, which happens to be my favorite bus line…. :) Not worth more than $750, tops, imo. Good for a Catholic U student at that price, maybe.

Therefore, that’s the effective floor for rent. Now, many landlords don’t want to deal with section 8 tenants, so some are willing to go below in order to have non-problem tenants.
