From the Petworth Community Market:

Join us tomorrow, July 8, for the Petworth Community Market! The market runs Fridays, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., through September 30, along Ninth Street at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Upshur Street, NW. New this week: Chef demonstration, food truck and a new orchard vendor!

Chef Demo: It’s In the Punch
This week, stop by the market for a chef demonstration by Dan Searing, the bartender at Room 11. On the heels of his recently published book on punch, “The Punch Bowl: 75 Recipes Spanning Four Centuries of Wanton Revelry,” Dan will be making a sangria and a fruit syrup using fresh fruit from the market — most likely raspberries! Stop by for recipe cards.

The Big Cheese Food Truck
After you’ve sampled Dan’s sangria, stop by The Big Cheese Food Truck, which sells delectable sandwiches and soups using cheeses from Cowgirl Creamery. The Big Cheese offers a core menu of six grilled cheese sandwiches plus two weekly specials; a tomato soup + seasonal soup (vegan options); and rustic bread from Lyon Bakery.

Full list of vendors after the jump.

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
