  • great that the pools are open late today. it sure is hot out there.
on another note, does anyone else find it strange that all these community pools open so late on the weekends? with two kids at home we are up early and looking for things to do outside. this past weekend we got our bathing suits on, rubbed on some sunscreen and got to the upshur pool by 10:30am only to find out it doesn’t open until noon. we were really bummed…

    • Or why they close so early on weekends?

    • Just a guess: where I grew up, the pools were used for swimming lessons (a money-maker for some facilities) and swim team practice in the mornings, and open to the public from 11 or 12 on. Don’t know if that’s true here, or if it has simply become tradition.

  • Yaaaa HOOOOO!

  • noon is a common opening time for many pools. Not sure why – I agree that an early opening is nice too, especially for the little ones.

complaints (well, suggestions for revisions to operating hours) might help.
