  • Great parade, but why must they always do this in Summer? It’s too hot to stand and watch, let alone wear those crazy costumes. Next year do it in March.

    • With those skimpy outfits, anything less than 90 degrees would be cruel and unusal punishment!

And please, don’t pee on my house. I will post a picture and hose you down.

    • Boo.

In Trinidad and Tobago no one would trip. Love this fest!

      • a country that doesn’t mind if you pee on their houses? sounds like a clean place.

Please provide the address of your house so that I can direct people to pee there. Thanks in advance.

        • Uptight much?

And peep the name, the house gets plenty of urine 🙂

And I DON’T CARE! You’ve never had to pee in public before? I agree it should be minimized, but come on.

  • Do buses cross the parade route? Anybody know? The H buses specifically? WMATA has no alerts on their website and Trip Planner indicates the bus will run normally – but I’m doubtful.

  • It’s all fun and games, until someone get’s peed on!!!!

  • Why did the parade had to start from Kansas too bad for the buisness at the 4800 block

  • Triple shooting at Georgia and Gresham as the festival was wrapping up. Sounds like one may be fatal:

  • The organizers did not have the funds for all the related costs that would have been incurred by a longer route.

  • Now a massive fight at 7th & Florida in the CVS parking lot. Probably around 2 dozen folks. People spraying mace and throwing bottles. Crazy.

  • Shooting at Harvard.

  • What? A part of africaim (wft) american culture is peeing on houses and shooting and stabbing people? *rolls eyes*

So glad I decided to do the scavenger hunt at mr.yogato tonight instead. Getting shot, stabbed, or peed on would have really put a damper on my night.

  • Just driving through around 7:00 at Ga. & Sherman Ave. and massive fight breaks around my car (bout 100 people). WHY CAN’T WE GET TOGETHER AND CELEBRATE OUR CULTURE WITHOUT FIGHTING!!!!!

  • Why have these festivals if they just inflame the the neighboorhood and spark violence? it’s like ordering-out for trouble.

  • Ya, great festival… tons of crime and garbage laying around.

How come people in this neighborhood insist on throwing their empty liquor bottles and Styrofoam boxes of chicken wing bones on the side of the street, instead of the garbage. Let’s show a little respect here for our community and the environment.

    • Back in the day, people were told to use the street as trash receptacles for the street cleaning to pick up….
