It is very surprising. There hasn't been a serious crime in this portion of eckington in...
Wow. That's horrible. I cannot believe the audacity of some people. Did she not thin you...
thanks for writing citykids! great addition!
I live a block away from that corner too... and it's the one area I try to avoid passing...
Rant: a friend of mine cancelled on our plans to go to a play this afternoon because she...
so if i go there for a taco snack and I have to use the john…do i have to use a porta potty?
No, you can always use the alley across the street, affectionately known as 9 1/2 U St, like so many of the cabbies in the neighborhood do to piss in.
That alley isn’t an outdoor toilet. People (other than cabbies) live there you know.
my name is rooty tooty and i am a taco lover.
keep ‘em coming.
Are tacos the new hamburger?
tacos are not hamburgers.
So will this one actually be good?
why seasonal? what season?
I’m guessing the season is “when it’s warm enough to eat outdoors.”
oo yeah. sounds good.

when when when? i’m hungry now!
Brilliant. This is becoming my favorite bloak of u.
No kidding. I mean, right now there’s only Nellie’s, Dickson, Velvet Lounge and Dodge City (*only*), but coming soon we have back patios for the latter two mentioned, plus The Brixton (serious construction lately), whatever restaurant that is totally gutting that one building, and this place. This block is going to be awesome – and right by the metro too!
Let’s wait and watch the liquor license follies whittle down the late closing hours, the DJ & dancing, or the capacity. Or all three.
+1 for music and late-night weirdness
An empty lot on U street being developed for a taco stand? Curious about the business model for this…
business model:
buy an ipod and speakers.
buy some picnic tables
sell a few tacos.
sell a lot of beer.
dance!
I believe they are going to build a permanent structure, but they are being smart in making sure they can obtain the liquor license before investing a bunch of money in the build out.
this sounds great
