Guglielmo Marconi and Casa Italiana

I would not have guessed that there was a monument to Guglielmo Marconi.

But it makes sense being right outside Casa Italiana [595 1/2 Third Street, NW]:

At Casa Italiana Language School, we believe learning the Italian language and culture should be fun. With courses designed to engage our students and let them learn effortlessly, Casa Italiana promises to deliver an experience beyond the basic process of learning.

Cool they have cooking classes as well.

Anyone ever stop by Caffe Italia?

  • All due respect for Casa Italiana and their besuited Signore Marconi, but the Marconi monument in Mt. Pleasant features the hottest gilded naked chick in DC.

Little known fact but before they put in the courthouses and the interstate, that neighborhood was DC’s Little Italy.

  • I used to take Italian classes here. Amazing instructors – all from Italy and the sense of community there is wonderful. And the espresso – to die for!

    • Do you know what the hours are for the Caffe? Also, is the pasta any good?

I work at North Capitol and D, so a cheap lunch place would be amazing!
