This was recently house of the day but I was encouraged to update because as you can see above the house has been painted. Nice.

  • Man do I dislike red paint on brick! The detailing is nice.

  • ah

Both the hydrangeas and the house looked nicer two weeks ago

The orangey-red is pretty but the white house looked like something out of a time machine, where your nice great-aunt lived…

    • That’s why I liked it. It was so old-fashioned looking, like a little spot of country in the city.

It looks like the hydrangeas are coming to swallow up the house.

  • I love it! (I tend to like painted brick, though. Grew up in a house that was painted pink.) The hydrangeas are at the tail end of the season, but the color contrast is still beautiful.

I wouldn’t call it red, I’d say terra cotta. Nice contrast with the pale blue next door, and with the hydrangeas. It’ll look great next year when the flowers are at their peak. The green gate disappears now, as does the fence, the three pots and the walkway pavers harmonize. Looks like there are some oakleaf hydrangeas in the back that echo the house color – that’s going to look better and better as fall approaches. Good job, home owners!

  • I LOVE it! I would do this if I had the resources – beautiful work.
