From MPD:

Shortly before midnight on May 29, 2011, MPD officers responded to an “Investigate the Trouble” call for a woman screaming in the 1300 block of Taylor Street, NW. The officers located the complainant, who informed them while walking to her house, a white male approached her and demanded her money. The complainant replied that she didn’t have any, so the suspect knocked her to the ground and then fled into an alley. A lookout was provided for the suspect and Officer A. Figuereo located someone matching the description in an alley in the block. An identification procedure was conducted and both the complainant and a witness positively identified the subject stopped as the one who attempted to rob the complainant. The suspect was then placed under arrest for Assault with the Intent to Rob.

  • I was a sort-of witness to this event (I heard the screaming and was sticking my head out the window) and I have to say that the cops were there in what seemed like seconds!

    Great work!

  • andy

be on the lookout for feral white youth, everybody.

  • It was a pretty quiet weekend in my little part of Petworth(beside the murder in front of the strip club, go figure). I was surprised and it must be because of this officer and others like him keeping an eye peeled. Props indeed!

  • We Natives have been fearing white troublemakers for years. They came and gentrified our lands…now they’re robbing poor black women…next thing you know they’ll be gentrifying Petworth.

  • Well glad they got him. Of course 1300 Taylor is not actually in Petworth – its 16th Street Heights…

  • the perp was white? really?
