Horse’s Ass Award Nominee Now For Sale Near U St, NW

“Dear PoP,

I emailed you about two months ago asking for information about this borderline-abandoned building, and it looks like there’s finally something going on. All of the graffiti has been painted over, and a “For Sale” sign has been nailed to a window. I can’t find a listing anywhere, but I’m hoping it goes fast and something fantastic comes in its place.”

Let’s hope the asking price is realistic!

  • Is there anyway to know who owns these places? Why not be more specific who gets the ass award? It’s not the building.. it’s the douchebag owner. Call the f*ck out!

  • Douglas …. Probably..

  • can hipchick in DC check and see if there’s an MLS listing? Maybe someone can call the number on the sign and see how much the person is selling for, then report back.

The pessimist in me is pretty sure this is just a ploy to keep off the vacant/blighted tax rolls…

  • I live essentially next door in the Rhapsody, and our listserv was very excited by this sign. However, the realtors in the building said it was not in fact in MLS. I think it’s just a ploy to keep it from being declared abandoned – DCRA told me in an email that the reason it is not on the list currently is that it is for sale. I, and others, informed DCRA that there was no sign and no MLS listing, and this sign appeared about a week later.

  • This place makes me cringe when I walk by it every day on my way to work. I hope someone does something, anything, with it.
