I feel like this Wed.’s house porn post was a bit of a bust so I wanted to end the week with a good one. Plus this is one of my favorite blocks in the city. I was psyched to get a look inside one of the houses. What’d you think of this one?

It’s yours for $1,749,000.

  • BEAUTIFUL home, great space, and outstanding location but I can think of better ways to spend $1.7M. For that amount of money I’d buy a fixer upper for half the price in a good neighborhood with even more potential and make it just as beautiful.

  • wow, that’s about as good as it gets. I love the all-white. Off the hook. I also love Church. Who is the noted designer? Anyone know?

  • The bathroom!!! Other than my not liking the banister, it’s damn near perfect.

  • “a careful renovation by a noted designer.”

really? that furniture is a hot mess. you can’t just pick well-known pieces and mash ’em up in a white space and call it design. whew.

  • Beautiful. And on one of my favorite blocks in the city.

  • They might want to powerwash the outside steps. They look pretty damn dirty….wipe your feet before entering the all white house. Awsome deck.

  • I hope the new oweners of the place won’t have any little ones. They would have a field day in that house. Perfect for a fastidiously clean couple.

  • This is ideal if you want a nicely renovated space in the middle of a well established, safe neighborhood. But you’re paying through the nose at $700psf. And I’m sure somebody with too much money will snap it up.

But… A recent foreclosure just a few blocks away sold for $1.35M, and is a nine bedroom, 4200 square foot house. With $400k to spend on renovations, you’d have a stunner.

  • Ooh! Want!

  • I like it, personally. But it seems WAY overpriced and small-ish for the “enormous” description.

  • I wish I could buy this..perfect house and location.

  • Purty house with purty stuff.

  • I like the negro modelo in the lower level hallway

  • Great deal if you don’t mind being so far from the subway and in such a high-crime neighborhood.

    Oh wait, wrong post.

    • speaking of crime..I lived on 19th and T..and had more issues with crime there than any other neighborhood. my car/my house/mugged all happened within two blocks of this-well the house happened within one block 🙂

But true, this is an awesome area. just pointing out that crime happens everywhere in this damn city. Damn why do I love you DC.

  • Oh, that’s lovely.

This is so far out of any price range I’ll probably ever be able to afford that I can’t really comment on its value. But damn, is it pretty.

  • Noted designer not noted enough to be noted by name.

  • If I were rich, I would be taht person who pays 700$/SF for it.

Damn near perfect in my mind (furniture not included).

  • Cool space and layout. The skylight in the dinning room is great – and not something most row houses have.
The location is good but for that kind of money I think I’d want a wow factor – roof deck, garage, midnight kitchen…
Great house but if I had that money there’d be others in the neighborhood I’d buy over this.

Also – too many clear plastic tables for my taste.

  • The base reno looks good, but the decor is a little much for my taste – it looks like Bettina and Max would live there. So for that price, you’re getting a great location and a major aesthetic re-do. But if I had $2m I might go for it …

  • This house is amazing. Wow. I thought I would have to go to NYC to get a product like that. Chic and sophisticated yet totally livable. This thing will go fast. I think it might be open this weekend from 1-4. Anyone know who the designer is????

  • This house is amazing with a top down renovation using first class materials and contractors. Not a detail missed. I had the pleasure of staying here in March. Great street, great location (close to Metro station and Starbucks!!).

The “noted designed” is my brother-who has been featured in design magazines from LA to Miami. Way to go bro!!!

  • Love to see sibling fealty – but really – what in the world did your brother “design” here? It is white on white on white with standard ceiling pot lights, general knock out the walls design and general non-offensive non-crappy finishes. Nice. Fine. But one could do a lot of really cool stuff with a million dollar shell in Dupont and $700,000 to reno.

  • Incredible – the floors are gorgeous, light fixtures amazing, woodwork perfect. I love the baths – attention to detail and clean lines – nice! Great use of space – feels so much bigger than it is. Keep up the incredible work! Greg Brennan is one incredible designer…

  • Wow! spectacular! I hope I know the new owner so I can stay in the lower level. This will go fast – it’s beautiful, different and very elegant.
    Nice job!
