The Craigslist ad says:

“Small Boutique Building with an amazing roof top terrace.

This 1 Bedroom 1 Bath apartment has a open kitchen/living area with access to a balcony, hall bath, berber style wall-to-wall carpeting and good closet space.”

“Monthly rent is $1545, electricity is separate, and water/sewer is included.” sound right?

  • Looks beautiful. But a $50/applicant application fee? Seriously? That’s ridiculous.

  • This looks like a pretty good deal for a 1-br in Georgetown. It’s not fancy but looks bright and functional and has a good amount of space. Nice to see a rental that doesn’t seem like a total ripoff (at least by DC standards!).

    • Yep – and don’t hand over the application fee unless you are the first applicant, because otherwise they will cash your check even though they don’t even process your application for the apartment (at least that’s what happened to me when applied for a place through Chatel)

  • Good deal.

Having lived 2 blocks from there, as well as in West End, Logan, and Cap Hill, I’d rate that is one of the best locations in DC to rent and at a good price (assuming its decent quality inside), plus a roof deck. Easy walk to metro, Dupont, Gtown, relatively safe, and with Rock Creek park and the Potomac right there for jogging, etc.

  • Sounds like a good deal – 1br 1/ba across from the park? Not bad.

But I really hope this sentence: “access to a blacony and hall bath” has a writing/editing error and the bath is in the apt, not access to it in the hall (shared bathroom?).

  • blacony… i write blacony… friday happy hour is needed now.

  • Across from Rose Park? Nice. 5 minute walk to DuPont, short one to Georgetown. Not a bad price.

  • I looked at a rental unit in this building about 3 years ago — the building itself was not in such great shape at the time. “Boutique” is not the word I would use to describe it… just small, as many Georgetown buildings in DC tend to be. The roof top terrace is not “amazing” by any stretch of the imagination (unless they have since renovated it). But for a 1 bedroom in this area, $1545 is not bad. It’s close to Dupont and Georgetown; however, there are not very many amenities in the area as it is largely residential.
