You can talk about whatever is on your mind – quality of life issues, a beautiful tree you spotted, scuttlebutt, or any random questions/thoughts you may have. I’ll open this thread every Monday and Friday. So anything good happen to you this weekend?

  • Ha. I’ve been that guy skating in that spot.

    • So you’re a poser too? ZING 🙂

      • No, a skater skates. A poser, well, poses. The guy in the picture looks like he’s skating. And I skate too.

A poser is the one that wears skate shoes and walks around in them but doesn’t skate.

  • Rant – A smart, generally obedient six-year old, closely supervised and diligently taught about road safety can still run between parked cars out into the street when excited about something.

Rave – Observant drivers going the speed limit in residential areas can stop in time and not kill them. Thank you driver on 3900 block of Morrison Street NW Sunday afternoon!

  • Rant: Girl is out of town this weekend. Nothing to do except hang around my apartment and watch movies.

Rave: Got some cute drunken texts from her! 😉

    Rant: Still unemployed 🙁

  • Rave: Speking of skateboarders – I think it’s pretty awesome that there is a skate park on 11th St. in Shaw. Kudos to whoever came up with the recent redesign. I don’t skateboard but I think it’s a great nod to the community, which seems to be pretty fond of it.

Rant: This past weekend, a guy I grew up with was shot and killed while on duty as a police officer in my hometown. 🙁 He left behind a wife and 2 small children. RIP Ofc. Andrew Dunn.

Rave: I really don’t have anything for this part today. Enjoy the afternoon, people of PoP, as the weather will start to get colder this week. And please be safe out there.

  • Rant: Lost a good friend to cancer last week. It wasn’t unexpected and he’s no longer in pain, but it still sucks.

Rave: Headlined a blues festival this weekend and had a great time. Got paid well too and it was a fun road trip. Lots of good gigs coming up this spring and summer (including the DC barbecue battle.)

  • Rave: beautiful weather, a big moon, and a happy crowd of people at the plaza in Columbia Heights on Friday evening.

Rant: the rainy weather forecast for this week

  • rave: Spring weather! FINALLY!

rave: My 28 week old fetus is dancing away in my uterus.

rant: My tax return was rejected. Blech.

  • Rant: Cronyism and nepotism in the administration.

  • Rant: I’m tired of carrying 75% of the responsibility in this relationship. If you’re an adult, then act like one. If you’re a child, then you shouldn’t be married. You don’t get to slack off and do nothing just because I’m around to pick up after you.

  • Rave: Finally tried to make homemade lamb roganjosh.

Rant: Too much tomato, not enough of something (fruit perhaps?). Will have to try again.

  • Rant: People I’m meeting around DC, especially in bars, seem more and more comfortable using derogatory, offensive racial etc. slurs in casual conversation.

Revel: Got the dough recipe this weekend from the owner of Radius.

  • Rant – Renovation has started on this property on Irving St. NW. The workers have 4 vehicles parked in back – 3 are from Virginia, 1 from Md! So much for DC work going to DC residents.

  • Yes, please share the dough recipe.
