Big Plans for the Healing Arts Gallery on U St, NW

Back in Feb. ’11 we learned that Greater Goods was closing at 1626 U Street NW. Walking past the front window it looks like next door neighbor Healing Arts Gallery has grand plans for an expansion (though it still looks like a new tenant will take over the retail space):

  • Thanks so much for taking note of our expansion! We’re really excited about it and I wanted to provide a few more details–

Smith Farm Center for Healing and the Arts and the Joan Hisaoka Gallery will reopen in the fall, with expanded space and new features that will allow us to serve more people and offer programs that are open to the community at large as well as specialized programs for people living with cancer and other illnesses.

Along with the new courtyard and rooftop terrace, there will be a state-of-the-art teaching kitchen and new program space where we will offer cooking and nutrition classes, creativity workshops, restorative yoga and meditation, and other programs.
