Heads Up Georgia Ave Drivers

I can’t wait to see how it looks when completed. From DDOT:

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be working along Georgia Avenue, NW between Taylor and Upshur Streets starting Thursday, February, 3 through February 15, weather permitting.

This work will require single lane closures on the northbound side of Georgia Avenue. These closures will take place daily from 9:30 am to 3 pm.

Temporary signs will be in place to alert the traveling public in this area.

Additionally, DDOT will be finishing up the storm sewer work along the southbound side of Georgia Avenue south of Shepherd Street. The existing lane closures for this work will remain in place through Saturday, February 6.

  • Do you know what they are doing in Georgia and Upshur? Is it also sewer work like yo mentioned for Shepherd? Just curious because I’ve seen a lot of digging lately.

  • Its part of the Great Streets initative. They are doing a streetscape project. Between Shepherd and Upshur ther are changing the street pattern a little and making a new plaza, and improving the existing one.

  • Does anyone know if they are putting up a traffic light there at Taylor and GA. Ave.? I hope so.
