  • From what I can tell, it looks like there’s a variation in the brick under the little round window, as if there used to be something there?

    • This is 1730 Corcoran, the easternmost in an eclectic group of five 1889 rowhouses. The second, 1732, was replaced, but 1730 has elements identical to the others, particularly the brickwork in the cornice. I see no evidence of a bricked up window. The super clean look of the left side is unusual for that time and seems to presage the Beaux Arts movement.
