The Calvert Woodley is great and all, but Van Ness Liquors is my boo. The family is always working there, and they know their customers and their preferences well. They are the only store I’ve seen that stocks our favorite red.

This is right next to where the Taco Bell Express used to be and was formerly the Green Apple Asian Cafe.

Staff in this 7-11 seem very nice and there’s a great selection of items (at least compared to the Tenleytown store).

This qualifies as stop-the-presses information in Van Ness. The last big news we had was a food truck visit in October.

memories. when i was in college there was a beer store (in surburban philadelphia) that would deliver beer, smokes, and pizza from the pizza place next door to them. And they wouldn’t card. Just a nice smile a big tip. Life was good back then.
