Hamilton Square Grill Coming to Corner of 14th and F St, NW (in Former Borders Space)

This is the new place from the folks behind Clyde’s. Back in June the Post reported:

Though plans are still in the works, Meyer said the newest restaurant would offer sushi, a raw bar and, on the bottom level, live music. Overall it will be “comfortable, good food, a menu with drinks,” he said. “I don’t think there’s anything in D.C. that really covers all that.”

The liquor license application simply says:

“New Multi-Purpose Facility. Request a sidewalk café with a seating capacity for 96 patrons.”

I’m intrigued by “multi-purpose facility”, I’ve never seen that description before.

  • He doesn’t think there’s anything in D.C. that is comfortable with good food and a menu with drinks? (not that I think those things are esepcially easy to find all together)

Anyway, this sounds like a great use for this space and I’m sure it will be a hit.

  • People like to bash on Clyde’s but I’ve never had a bad experience there.

    • In my experiences with them, some locations are a lot better than others. I’ve had a lot of bad meals at the one in Chevy Chase, but the Gallery Place location has always been good.

  • Clyde’s already owns too many restaurants in this town. Therefore, the DC govt should put a stop to this new restaurant. For health and safety reasons.

    • How does owning too many restaurants lead to health and safety reasons? Clyde’s runs a good show at the gallery place location – I’ve never had a bad experience there, and I’ve been there many times.

  • Sushi and a raw bar. Why is it called a grill?
