  • Uh, yeah, French is the official language of the Republic of Mali or République du Mali. It was once part of French Sudan. As a matter of fact French is still very much “the diplomatic language” in that it is an official language of the United Nations. Mainly former colonies, in Africa, Bahamas, Oceania and others (don’t forget Quebec) still use French as the language of government often because there are so many other tribal languages used within that country, this is especially true in Africa
