Ledroit Park News – Park and Restaurant Edition

I know there are lots of fans of Ethiopian restaurant, Zenebech Injera, located at 608 T St, NW by Florida Ave so I wanted to share news that they’ve applied for a liquor license. Zenebech had also briefly closed last summer. Anyone been back recently?

I also wanted to share the news that the LeDroit Park Civic Association has put together a survey soliciting names for the new community park coming to 3rd and V Streets NW. I’m voting for Ledroit Park Park. You can fill out the survey here.

You can see more info about the park here.

  • I’ve been back to Zebebach recently and it is as awesome as ever. You can’t beat the portion sizes for the price.

  • Funny you ask! The hubby and I treated ourselves to take-out two nights ago. Delicious and filling and easy on the wallet. So delicious!

  • Looks like some good brick-proof windows with those bars on them. Should keep them safe from revenge-minded marauding packs of sober DC9 apologist hipsters.

  • Was there last week and food as delicious as ever, very generous portions and really great price ($20 dollars for two entres for 2, with drinks).

  • Got take out from Zenebech about a week ago and was just as tasty, plentiful and reasonable as ever.

Thanks for the plug on the park naming survey too!

  • I third (fourth?) the sentiments that Zenebech is as good as ever. In fact, this whole strip is pretty great despite the outward appearance. Wazobia is a friendly spot for very cheap happy hours ($2 beers)and good spicy food. Zee’s is also putting out tasty food and will hopefully have their liquor license in the next few weeks/months.

  • man, i keep meaning to go here.

    i’ve only heard good reviews

  • How about Edward Brook for the park? He was first African American senator elected post Reconstruction. He grew up in a house on 3rd st NW. At 1938? Or at 1936?
