Judging Buildings/What the Helen of Troy is This?

Looks Like Ma Ma’s Southern Cuisine Has Opened Up at 3118 Georgia Ave, NW

Back in early Oct. we learned that the space formerly home to Hadiyah Cafe would become Ma Ma’s Southern Cuisine. When I walked by last weekend it was closed but a menu was in the window so I’m guessing it’s probably open now. Anyone check them out. From peeking in the window – the space looks good.

They even have a happy hour.

Shot of the menu after the jump.

    The three rules of life:

    1. Never eat at a place called “Mom’s.”

    2. Never play cards with a guy named “Doc.”

    3. Never sleep with someone who has more problems than you do.

Awesome a new place to get whiting. I can’t wait to check it out. I guess it is better than empty… but seriously I could get my hair cut, braids, my nails done and eat some dank greasy food on any block of Georgia Ave. I will be excited when I see something new.

Hope these guys have their liquor license. I’ve lost count how many new restaruants open their doors without a liquor license and then are forced to close for months – never to reopen!

Note: I’m not against them serving liquor – just hate seeing people irgnorant of the law having to close and reopen…

The sign above the door on the left looks like it says “Open Bar.” I’m there.

They do serve liquor! I went on my birthday and the owner Sabrina made it a very pleasant experience! I’ll definitely go back and encourage you all to check it out!!!

Love, love, love it!! The food is absolutely fantastic and the staff makes you feel right at home. I’ve went twice since my first visit and plan to come every chance I get! Finally some class on Georgia Avenue!!
