The Craigslist ad says:

“Newly renovated 2 bedroom condo for rent on 6th and Lamont, NW. The unit includes parquet floors throughout the condo, a new w/d, a new dishwasher, a new stove/oven, and a new central heating/cooling system. With a spacious living room and even more spacious kitchen, this condo deserves a look….It is just divine! The condo is in a secure access building. Utilities are not included.

The condo is located in between the Georgia Ave and Columbia Heights train stations and near the following buses: H1/2/3/4/8, the 70s, and the 60s. It is just a 10 minute bus ride to Gallery Place/Chinatown and a 10 minute walk to the Columbia Heights Shopping area (Target, BestBuy, Giant, WSC, etc.). There is also plenty of street parking around the clock.”

Does $1350 sound reasonable for this 2 bed/1 bath?

  • I’d say it’s a good deal. I used to live on that block and a 3BR was $2400. i eventually left because I really didn’t feel all that safe at night, but if you do, it’s a good deal. Though you might have to walk by all the crackheads in the alley between Keefer & Lamont.

  • I don’t get it – the ad says parquet floors but the photos seem to show normal hardwoods. If everything checks out, it’s a good deal.

  • Definitely reasonably priced! I’m sure it will go fast.

  • She forgot to include her phone number in the posting though.

  • This would be a good deal in Rockville, it looks like an awesome deal in DC.

  • I am interested.

  • There’s a nice old-fashioned apartment building on the corner of Lamont and 6th. Lots of windows. I think it’s a condo building, but seems to have unusually big apartments (like 3 bedrooms). I don’t know too much about it. Maybe some readers live in it?
