Firefly has recently become one of a select few restaurants in the D.C. area to serve Batch 19, a special brew made from a pre-prohibition era recipe. The beer will be available on tap in the bar and lounge area, where guests can order 64 oz. growlers of Batch 19 for $15 during happy hour and $20 afterwards.

Also, guests can now check-in to Firefly on foursquare, where the restaurant offers a complimentary glass of sparkling wine for first time check-ins. Guests should check-in often as the special offer will change.

When: Beginning October 1st, happy hour specials will be available Monday through Friday between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. On Monday nights, $4 drinks will last from 7:00 p.m. until closing.

Where: Firefly Restaurant, 1310 New Hampshire Avenue, NW

  • So they’re punishing the people who work late?

    • No, just themselves. This sounds like a desperate marketing move, actually. Beat the Clock? Come on…I haven’t seen that in almost 20 years, and never in an establishment that wanted to be taken seriously.

      • Does MtP stand for Mount Prententious?

who complains about drink and food specials? I believe there’s still a few placecs that do it in DC.

What if they just want to pack more people in the place during these hours?

Maybe they don’t have any misconceptions on who they are or how seriously they want to be taken. Maybe they just want to make a little money and generate some buzz. Perhaps you’ll be too busy building schools in Northwest Pakistan or adopting starving children from Africa, Mr. Serious.

      • Asylum and Midtown Loft have similar deals but yeah surprising for a place like Firefly. Definitely will partake though.

  • Finally — something to break up the ennui of a long afternoon on my off days.

  • What is this, a frat house?

  • Asylum has been doing this for years with beer. Drafts start at 50c at 5, and go up by 50c every hour until they get to $3 (I think). And if I recall correctly, it used to start at 25c!
