Well this is pretty cool. From WMATA:

Metro riders have the opportunity to purchase half-price Arena Stage tickets for the inaugural season of the Mead Center for American Theater.

On “Metro Mondays,” riders who present their SmarTrip® cards or Metro fare cards at the Arena Stage box office after noon, will be eligible to purchase half-price tickets to that week’s performances. Tickets are subject to availability and limited to two per customer.

The Mead Center is one block from the Waterfront-SEU Metrorail station on the Green Line. Metrobus routes 70, 71, V7, V9, P1 and P2, as well as the DC Circulator Convention Center-Southwest Waterfront route also serve the theater area.

  • Is their new facility finally finished? From what I’ve seen, it looks spectacular.

  • yes it’s finished–the grand opening is Saturday!
they also have special ticket offers for people who live or work in SW, or who are 30 and under.

–not an Arena Stage employee, just a SW resident who’s really excited about it!

  • Spectacular new venue with spectacular waterfront views in a part of the city few visit but for the Maine Avenue Seafood Warf.
