Chop’t and Potbelly’s Coming to Union Station

Thanks to a reader for sending the heads up. Last exciting Union Station news we heard was that Chipotle had opened up. And of course we’re still waiting on the Bojangles. But we can add two more to the list of ‘coming soon’. Chop’t and a Potbelly’s are both coming to Union Station. You can see a list of all the dining options in Union Station here.

  • Crumbs Bake Shop is coming, as well! I had heard rumors about this for a while, but I actually saw the sign last time I was there (about 3 weeks ago).

  • PoP – you know I love you, but what is with you making everything possessive?! It’s Potbelly – no ‘s! Just like Taylor is just Taylor – there’s no possessive.

(Okay, weird pet peeve rant over. Yay for Chop’t and Potbelly!)

    • Prince Of Petworth

Hahaha, it’s a flaw! I thought it was Potbelly’s Sandwich shop but yes, there is no apostrophe. But when I talk, I say – I’m going to Potbellys not I’m going to Potbelly and I mostly type like I talk…

      • Is that a regional thing? I hear other people say that too – it always makes me nuts! (says the girl who retains none of the pittsburgh accent except to leave out the infinitive all the time ie “my car needs washed”)

The other regional colloquialism that kills me around these parts is, “When I’m done work.”

Okay, no more grammar talk – I’m done giving you a hard time!

        • the pennsylvania thing of leaving out “to be” is so hilarious and striking once you start noticing it in pennsylvanians.

          • I honestly had no idea it was wrong until I went to college. I was mortified. Even now though, I know it’s wrong, I don’t notice it when I’m back home. Probably b/c it’s hard to pick up through the hardcore yinzer accent.

  • Related to this I’m happy to report that the Chipotle in Union Station which is next to where Potbelly and Chop’t will go is GREAT. The line can get really long but it moves very quickly – everyone working there is super fast and very nice. I was very happily surprised with this 🙂

  • Continuing the Station-based journey into revolting, chain-oriented mediocrity.

Surely Union Station could have one eating establishment that doesn’t suck?

(OK, I can do Chipotle every now and again. My liver will get me before my heart does, anyway).

    • I like the Asian place on the second floor. I think it’s called East Street Cafe. And I like the made to order sandwiches at Au Bon Pain.

  • That’s probably the first time anyone has ever used the words “Chipotle” and “exciting” in the same sentence.

  • sound like places that the tourist hoards at Union Station would like.
