Yesterday the Columbia Heights Listserv sent out word that the Columbia Heights’ IHOP (Irving St. west of 14th in DC USA) will be hosting a couple of hiring events Wed. the 22nd and Mon. the 27th (full details on that after the jump). But there was another item of interest as well. While I had heard that they hoped to open by the end of Nov., assuming no more stop work orders, this is the first time I’ve seen an opening date announced. Nov. 16th sounds great!
Job details after the jump.

bring on the pancakes. does anyone know what the projected hours of operation are?
24 hours is what I heard
OMG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would be sorely disappointed to find an IHOP that wasn’t open 24 hours
Wow it’s really happening. I’ll have to BYO real maple syrup to eat there though.
No, you’ll survive.
If you like real maple syrup, somehow, I don’t think you’ll like their food.
(I am biased. I have gotten sick every time I have eaten at an IHOP (3 total) I won’t eat at one again.)
Prediction. People here will love it for one or two months, then complain non stop about how it’s a teen hangout or a magnet for “feral” teens.
We need more infrastructure to compete with Gallery Place and Silver Spring as teen hangouts, ie. a movie theater. I doubt teens want to come hang out at IHOP.
I don’t plan on going there before midnight or after 6 am anyway when feral kids are under curfew. Another late night option besides The Diner mere blocks from my place is awesome!
damn. I was hoping the the stop work orders would continue. Gross.
Snob!
Ellwood Thompson, please take a lesson. This is how you build out and “open” a business.
This is about to be a hot ghetto mess. And, b4 anyone makes any assumptions….I’m black.
You “aint” said nothing BUT the truth!
good news for the neighborhood.
Awesome. Now I can finally get a decent country fried steak in DC that can actually kill me.
If it is anything like the one in SE, you are right. They have stabbings and fightings over there all the time. And to think the place is owned by a DCMPD.
anyone else catch that on the sign it says we can follow ihop on “twiter”? ha…
I’m glad that IHOP is finally coming. And whether it’s going to be ghetto, you prefer finer dining, or what have you, don’t go. And let’s be real for a moment, a snob? In Columbia Heights? Seriously? Chances are you live in CH because you can’t afford Georgetown. That makes you a snob wanta be. Enjoy IHOP. I sure am.
I’m excited about the opening. For all those worried about teenagers/”ghettoness”/people who don’t have as much money as you, I was out in germantown today. It was quite sanitized and clean for you. Not my kind of place, but if you don’t want to see people different from you, there you go.
