Best Spot for a Morning Cup of Coffee or Mojito

One of my favorite things about running this blog is when I get invited over to readers homes to check out their morning coffee spots. This couple in Bloomingdale have one of the nicest roof decks I’ve ever seen. Well the roof deck is quite nice but I mean the views. The views were insane. 360 degrees. A coffee spot like this definitely contributes to the Beautiful Life! Thanks again to these readers for their kindness in showing me their home.

  • Question – can you see the Capitol dome from there? It looks like you can see the basilica in the 2d picture.

    • Prince Of Petworth

The view was incredible. You could see the Capitol Dome, the Basilica and the Washington Monument.

      • Thanks! I was wondering if Bloomingdale was elevated enough to snag a view of the Capitol.

        • even the lower parts south of rhode island mostly have views of the capitol.

when you say the basilica pop, do you mean national cathedral? surely they have a view of the national cathedral too?

          • The basilica is the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It’s by Catholic University and according to their web site:

The basilica…is the largest Roman Catholic church in the United States and North America, and is one of the ten largest churches in the world.

          • if you live in bloomingdale and you can see the basillica, you can definitely see the cathedral.

that was my point. sorry i wasnt clear.

  • POP can you ask them who built the deck for them please? I need a roof deck company recommendation.

  • Hello Blue Sky! What a wonderful way to start your day. Enjoy.

  • Can you also post where they got that swing? Totally awesome!

  • I recently built a 12 x 12 deck on my roof. For those of you who are planning to build I would suggest using a composite material as opposed to wood. It doesn’t heat up as much in the sun and is maintenance free. I also used wrought iron railings and built a bench using the same flooring and “space saver” bench brackets which place the seat off the deck and saves considerable space.
