MPD Seeks Your Help in Identifying Armed Suspect

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Second and Third Police Districts are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect believed to be responsible for the fourth in a series of recent, daylight robberies of business establishments. The suspect, described as a black male of light complexion, 30-40 years of age, 5’6” to 6’0 tall, approximately 150-160 lbs., wearing a yellow, patterned, polo-style shirt, blue jean shorts; a dark colored baseball cap, and oversize framed, aviator-style sunglasses, is suspected in the following robberies:

On June 30, 2010, at 12:15 PM, the Doggy Style Boutique in the 1800 block of 18th Street, NW, the suspect acted as if he were armed, but left the location when he was confronted.

On June 30, 2010, at 1:00 PM, the Rita’s located in the 1700 block of Florida Avenue, NW, was
robbed when the suspect displayed some form of weapon (Possibly a knife or screwdriver) and stole money from the cash register and then fled. (VIDEO)

On July 1, 2010, at 12:45 PM, the Pet Mac Store in the 4200 block of Fessenden Street, NW, where the suspect displayed a weapon and stole money from the cash register.

On July 6, 2010, at approximately 1:00 PM, a business specializing in environmentally friendly
products in the 1600 block of U Street, NW, was robbed when the suspect brandished a weapon, possibly a silver handgun, and obtained an undetermined amount of cash. In each of the earlier cases
the suspect wore a different color shirt, blue jeans, a fishing-style hat, and the aforementioned sun glasses.

[E] (1-888-919-2746). The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to
$10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible
for an armed robbery in the District of Columbia.
