  • These studios recently rented for $900. You can get a larger 1 br in the neighborhood for less.

    • I’m not sure about that. My friend just went through an excruciating search for a 1 bdrm in Mt. P and what little was actually out there was at least $1500. Some of the studios she saw for $1100-$1200 didn’t even have ovens. It seemed pretty bleak.

  • Sure beats that basement unit further down Park from yesterday. Sun is a great selling point. But, Mt. P < Columbia Heights. $1100 max.

  • nope that’s about $200 above market for MtP St.

  • They’re nice studios. My fiancee use to live in one before moving in with me. But not unlike most DC apartment buildings, it had a roach problem, meaning we’d see plenty of roaches despite management periodically insisting upon spraying insectide throughout the apartment.

    • I like the Mount Pleasant and Columbia Heights area, but wonder about pest issues.

I think it would be great if all DC apartments had to get special “bedbug free” and “Roach Free” certifications.

      • Agreed. I just moved into my condo last week and I haven’t seen any alive critters yet I did see a belly up cockroach… I’m gonna spend the weekend sealing up every possible crack in the place hopefully that helps keep them out.

  • I agree, overpriced. I rent a studio on Otis a couple clocks north for $899 + electric.

  • It’s not easy to find a studio for less than this in MtP that isn’t a basement – the price seems about right assuming its not a sketchy building ($1200 would be more like it since electricity isn’t included in the rent). Someone new to the city who wants to live close to a metro will probably take it.

  • I’ve looked in Mt. Pleasant for one bedrooms all this past month, and you could do a lot worse for that price. I saw a whole lot of smelly, moldy basements in Mt. Pleasant for about that much or even more.

  • I think everyone who posts that there are better deals should be required to post two examples.

  • It’s hard to find ANY apartment in Mt. Pleasant that isn’t a basement.

  • Too much. I pay less for a one bedroom in MtP.
