Wok and Roll Restaurant to Open 2nd Location in Adams Morgan

Twitter user AliMcSherry spotted the good news earlier on Tues. Wok and Roll’s Web site says a new location is coming soon to 2400 18 St. NW (at Belmont). I took a look late Tues. afternoon and a lot of work was going on (though it didn’t look like the opening was imminent). This is the old Prince Cafe/ House of Kabob (and Hookah) spot. Over the past months, the entire building has been renovated.

Wok and Roll has a current location at 604 H St, NW in Chinatown. We judged that location here. I’ll be sure to update when an opening date is announced for the Adams Morgan location.

  • Whoa, what happened to that turret, did a bus run into it at some point? The bricks are all mismatched at the bottom.

  • Isn’t this is the old Belmont Kitchen location? I know, I am dating myself . . . .

  • Yes – it is the old Belmont Kitchen. Dating myself, too.

PoP – thanks for this news. I walk by this building almost every day and am glad it will be occupied soon. (Sad on all the vacant storefronts in AM.) Sounds like an interesting addition.

  • What kind of food did Belmont Kitchen serve? If I remember right, it closed right after I moved here.

    • Belmont kitchen had a bunch of stuff including really good upside down pizza’s. It was a great spot, especially for brunch.

I remember on Sept. 11, they dragged a TV out on the patio and people would stop and watch as they were walking by…
