Lawn Decorations of the Day

I’ve seen an elephant and a donkey separately before but it’s rare to see them both in a residential area. For the record I’ve also never seen a flying donkey before:

And the elephant is pretty sweet too as it is covered in Pat Oliphant political cartoons:

  • Quite a few of the “Party Animals” have found their way over to Capitol Hill. These two are over on 5th St. SE I believe. Oliphant’s Elephant was the American Art Museum’s creation originally, if I’m not mistaken.

  • @Nichole – my work has blocked your blog 🙁 Apparently you’re under the category “Society and Lifestyles”! Makes me tres sad.

Also… PoP I’m so sad that I can no longer see the pictures on your site – work blocked flickr so none of the photos populate.

Saddest day in the history of days.

    • Wow. Does anyone know if there’s a way a blog can change its designation with whomever these things get listed (I assume it’s a particularly group of software companies)? Do you know what PoP is designated?

In the meantime, Mal, you’ll just have to check out the Hill is Home in the evenings! 🙂

      • I will do that! I’ve tried using my blackberry, but it’s just not the same. I have started doing much more work, so I guess their plan worked!

  • Never seen a flying donkey before?
Step up the mescaline, mate, you’ve got some catching up to do.

  • Actually, these are on 14th St NE, unless the owner of that house sold them to someone on 5th. I used to live there.

    • These are definitely on 5th Street now. (check out the street view for 217 5th St. SE) Not sure if the owner moved and took them with him, or if they sold them though.

  • What a beautiful block and great mixture of rowhouse styles.
