  • Good deal for the area and those finishes.

  • I’m not sure if the apt itself is a good deal – can’t tell from the photos – but the $50 app fee is pretty ridiculous. It costs about half that to check someone’s credit, and these days landlords are waiving fees like that.

  • I think that is an EXCELLENT deal

  • I like that block and unit looks nice–looks like a good deal to me too!

  • I used to live at 14th and Chapin several years ago and there were so many Salvadorian gang shootings that I had to break my lease because I feared for my life. Has this area gotten nicer?

  • It’s gotten much nicer around there. I used to live a block south and it’s convenient to U st. and CH and not dangerous. This looks like a pretty good deal, although it’s hard to tell it’s hard to tell its size from the photos.

  • It’s not a good deal particularly. It’s ok, if someone is looking to move here and wants a furnished place, and isn’t planning to stay much longer than a year, it might make sense. Though really don’t most people want to furnish their own place? Location is fine but.

  • I live on this street and find it and the surrounding neighborhood to be surprisingly quiet. The people I have come across who talk trash about the area relent when called on it, saying something like “well I guess I haven’t been there in years” or “heard from other people who knew someone.” That said it has changed for the better in the six years I’ve been here. Eight minute walk to U St or DCUSA, 15 minutes to Adams Morgan, you can’t beat it for this area of NW.

  • you know what city had a bad reputation back in the day?
pretty much every one of em on planet earth.
