Frightening Crime Alert From MPD

On Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at 12:35 a.m., a Robbery Gun offense occurred in the 2100 block of Observatory Pl., N.W. and was subsequently reported to the MPD.

SPECIFICS: THE VICTIM REPORTED THAT WHILE WALKING HE OBSERVED AN UNKNOWN SUBJECT EXIT A WHITE VAN, BEARING UNKNOWN TAGS. THE SUBJECT APPROACHED THE VICTIM, POINTED A DARK COLORED HANDGUN AT HIM AND ORDERED HIM TO THE GROUND. THE SUSPECT WAS JOINED BY A SECOND SUSPECT AND THEY SEARCHED THE VICTIM’S BACKPACK. THEY TOOK THE VICTIM’S IPHONE, LAPTOP COMPUTER AND HEADPHONES OUT OF THE PACK AND THEN TOOK THE VICTIM’S WALLET CONTAINING $60.00 U.S. CURRENCY AND A GIFT CARD. BOTH SUSPECTS FLED IN THE WHITE VAN NORTH ON OBSERVATORY PL. NW.

THE SUSPECTS ARE DESCRIBED AS:

S-1: BLACK/MALE, 5’10- 6′, DARK COMPLEX., BLK. DREADLOCK HAIR STYLE

S-2: MALE, UNK. RACE, NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION.

Safety Tips: This incident occurred in an area that sees very little criminal activity. This proves the need for caution at all times, taking nothing for granted.
