House of the Day

This great house is from 16th Street Heights. Actually, the flag was super cool but I couldn’t get a good angle of it from the sidewalk. Oh well, the house itself is mighty sweet though.

  • I want that house when I grow up — er — grow old.

  • @Disaffected in DC

No you don’t. Yes, the house looks very interesting from the outside, but it needs A LOT of work inside. All the major systems are outdated. I had a chance to see the house several years ago when it was up for sale. The house was converted into a boarding house a number of years ago and the rooms are carved up and has an institutional feeling. Some would say that is character, and others would say it is a money pit.

  • DiDC, there are a lot of similar houses in that area of 16th Street Heights into Brightwood. I think the style is known as “American Foursquare.”

So if you agree with Sid and you don’t want this house, other similar ones are out there!
