Can someone recommend a good place to get an oil change? I sadly must be a bit of a masochist and keep going back to Jiffy Lube.

Can someone recommend a good dentist?

  • Dr. Randy WOng in Dupont is the absolute best dentist of all time. Not sure if he’s taking new patients–after 5 years of everyone i know praising him, my entire office goes there now, and he may be booked up.

  • I love my dentist – Dr. Ilana Zukerberg at Adams Morgan Family Dentistry. In addition to being a very good dentist, she is a lovely person and she always makes getting my teeth cleaned such a pleasant experience. For example, if I go in the morning she will say “beautiful teeth like these are such a great way to start the day.” And once I had a cavity and I felt really terrible about it and she said “no, you are a very good brusher. Anyone else it would have happened much sooner!” I felt so much better.

  • I like my dentist Dr. Walter Grace on I street (just off Farragut). He does all the work himself including the cleanings.

  • I highly recommend Dr. Saba Lakhani at Bethesda Dental Associates. I know, it’s in Bethesda, but she’s wonderful, metro accessible, and her staff will go above and beyond to work with your insurance (or lack thereof). Her number is 301-652-5445 – http://www.bethesda-dds.com/

  • Dr. Joel Nevins!!

I have had some truly traumatic dentist experiences since moving to the District and Dr. Nevins is the absolute opposite. Funny, very gentle, and doesn’t recommend unnecessary and expensive optional crap like everyone else seems to ($500 whitening, anyone?). Two of my roommates see him and literally jumped with joy when I told them I was switching to him.

Not sure if he has a website but contact info is here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/joel-f-nevins-dds-washington .

  • Whatever you do – AVOID Dr. William Ebbs and the Washington Dental Studio.

  • AYT auto on 14th street and R NW is the place to go for your car repairs.

  • Stay FAR away from Dr. Mark Breslerman. BADBADBAD.
