New Event Coming to Nori Restaurant Thursday Evenings

From a reader:

“Thursday nights at the Nori restaurant (14th and Park) down in Columbia Heights. I plan on hosting DJs, producers, and artists to do what they do best — mix tunes, paint, project graphics on the wall, play along with their iPhones, shake maracas, whatever. Oh yeah, and eat mad sushi.

I’m calling the night Komori-uta, and I plan on starting April 9th. I’ll post more information about it on my music site, along with free song links and tutorials about how to find your next favorite beats for free.”

  • so what’s the word on the sushi there?

do they have happy hour specials?

  • The happy hour (5-7pm) will feature the following sushi specials:

$1 Nigiri Sushi per piece (Tuna, salmon, white tuna, masago, kani, ebi, hokkigia, ika, Saba, Unagi, Inari)

$3.49 Rolls (California, salmon skin, eel, tuna, salmon, tuna avocado, salmon avocado, yama gobo, shitake, kan-pyo, inari, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy california)

    $3 Draught Beers

    $4 Rail Cocktails

  • I’ve really liked the sushi there. I prefer the “gaijin” sushi (“foreigner” sushi– the stuff with all the crazy sauces and toppings) and they do it well there. The deep-fried rolls are a guilty pleasure. My husband prefers the traditional sashimi-style plain raw fish, and he likes Nori a lot. It’s become our regular go-to sushi place since we moved to 16th Street Heights. I still prefer Tono Sushi in Woodley Park, but Nori is good.
