I once asked if these buildings were posh new condos or soviet style barracks? Well after looking at the photos inside it is definitely pretty posh. What do you guys think of the inside. The new price for this rowhome just squeaks under house porn ($1 million) – it can be yours for $995,000. Any fans out there?

  • Wow – that sea green throughout the entire house is an interesting choice. Obviously it’s easy enough to change, but I don’t see how it’s doing the house any favors from a marketing perspective.

Like a lot of people who comment here, I think if I were in the market for a $1 million house, I’d want something with some historic details. But if modern is your thing, considering it’s hard to get this much square footage this close to U Street, and factoring in the the 2-car parking, balcony, a back patio, the price doesn’t seem too bad.

  • EEEWWWW! What’s up with the drab colors. I love the property but the colors have to GO! INSTANT TURN OFF!

  • It was definitely overpriced at its original listing but its getting closer to reality with the recent reduction.

Overall I like the modern style. But there are some weird things. Like the bathroom, which feels commercial not residential, with the long countertop and no base cabinets and wall to wall mirrors. The lights coming through the mirrors, on top of the track lighting, is also weird. The windows in the kitchen are odd too–a three part double hung with a clerestory on top of it. And they’re still small. Kinda negates the 11′ ceilings. The back of the building is a total downer too. It looks like the back of any suburban tract house in Virginia with the vinyl siding. I like the jade green paint color but it shouldn’t be everywhere. Why couldn’t the just paint some of the rooms white?

  • It seems like its one of the few modern rowhouses without a huge garage and curb cut in the front. That part I like.

  • just gotta say that hot tub thingy is pretty cool

  • Nice space overall. I’d love it, with a few decorating changes. That said, it is in no way an almost million dollar house. Are you kidding me? For a million I’d be looking for something more upscale. The kitchen- it’s like someone plopped a gourmet kitchen in the back of a rowhouse- it doesn’t fit the space. Get a grip, people!

  • I’d like to take a sledge hammer to that kitchen but it would probably have no impact.

  • The style isn’t for me — I’d be sick of that kitchen in less than 5 years, which I don’t think you should be able to say about a million dollar home. I do like the sunken spa out back, but it looks like a magnet for leaves and, frankly, I’d be extraordinarily worried about the number of rats it would attract. ‘Cuz who wants to go for a soak in rat water?
