House of the Day

This one is absolutely phenomenal. It’s in a really popular location as well. Anyone recognize it? Close ups after the jump.

I guess this photo makes identification a bit easier…

  • That is incredible.

  • It’s at the corner of Connecticut and Hillyer Place, NW, near Zorba’s, the Greek food restaurant. I love this building.

  • Not a house though, right? More like building of the day.

  • Yeah, I always love checking this building out when I go to Zorba’s….

  • In my previous line of work (one of them), we used that stoop for a night scene with actress Mary Louise Parker for “The West Wing.” About two years later, the residents of Hillyer Place NW (Connecticut at 20th NW to 21st) on that same block welcomed “The West Wing” for filming a snow-covered street scene again at night with several of the principal actors. “Donna” lived on Hillyer. We put down eight inches of snow of the street, sidewalks and stoops. The residents hung out with the director, actors and producer/writer Aaron Sorkin. Brad Whitford (aka “Josh”) asked me if he could tour some of the houses on Hillyer, and he wanted to know what houses around Dupont then cost. The actors, when in town, were spotted more than once hanging out around Dupont Circle. President Bill Clinton invited the actors, director and producers to have dinner with him at a restaurant on 20th above Q on another occasion.
