Awesome City Church

I can’t believe I’ve never featured the grand church located off 16th and Park. The sun was hitting it just right last Saturday. Check out some great details after the jump.

  • This church is of course Sacred Heart or El Sagrado Corazon in Spanish. At one time, it offered masses in 4 languages, English, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole and Spanish, reflecting the area’s demographics.

  • That’s a really wonderful photo, PoP

  • Nice pic. There are a bunch of great looking churches along 16th Street. The King Peace Center on the corner of 16th and Columbia is a personal fav.

  • PoP, you sure pay a visit one day. The interior is gorgeous.

  • Agreed on the interior…it needs some love, but is really gorgeous! Also, the Church still offers masses in all of those languages and has a vibrant community. If you want a real spectacle, you should head over for Holy Thursday next Lenten season…they perform the ceremony in a combination of all the languages the Church supports and it is a real sight to see and be a part of.
