I just don’t get it. Is this like a Hellraiser elephant?

  • no i think the needles are there to prevent thief.

  • these were placed around the district, and painted by artists at one point i think, and then auctioned off to raise money for something or other. lots were mauled and stolen, so perhaps hellraiser spikes are there to prevent heinous activities that might dissapoint the owner the rather ugly statue.

  • It’s one of the Party Animals – that wasn’t that long ago! (Seriously, his title should be on his base.) has some pictures of the other animals.

  • It’s on the south side of Biltmore, just east of 19th. One of the most unfortunate elephant/donkey lawn decorations around.

  • I lived next door when my neighbor installed that about 6 years ago… he’s got a couple other pieces of art out front as well. I always thought it was such a shame that my landlord kept our building looking so crappy in comparison. Back then my house had peeling white paint. Now it’s a glaring pumpkin orange.
