Washingtonian Takes An Early Look at The Meridian Restaurant Up In North Country

They have a nice photo and the menu selections. An excerpt:

“When English advertised the job openings in the Washington Post Express, he received more than 400 applications; he estimates that at least half came from Brightwood residents. He said the community has supported him since he started work on the building last summer. English says one server who lives nearby told him, “I never thought I’d be working at a restaurant like this around the corner from my house.””

  • I ate there and the food was great. Service was good too, but I went on a week night. You can tell the staff really cares, I can’t wait to go back

  • Jumping jeepers, batman: Washingtonian actually sent somebody INTO the district? Everytime I pick up a copy, all I see is Montgomery County & NoVA suburban-gentry shite. Can’t tell if this piece went in the print edition; my guess is it’s web-only.

Still, shock and horror! But good to see the place get some exposure.

  • I’m a Petworthian and I liked the place. We had the wings, shrimp, and a couple of drinks. It feels so good to have a place so close. The owner greeted us as soon as we came up to the bar.
