Does it Fit With the ‘Hood or Not?

Despite the fact that this building probably has a sweet roof deck, I can’t quite get over how much it clashes with the classic rowhouse right next door. What do you think -does it fit or no?

  • no fit…should have built to match the rest of the row…

  • What bugs me most is that it looks so hermetically sealed, like an office building. When it’s 70 degrees outside, I want to be able to open a window or two.

  • It’s not the worst. I kind of think it works. At least the building on the right is tall as well.

  • I really like it. And correct me if I’m wrong, it’s on a cool stretch of street in Shaw (Q maybe?)

  • Ugh…more boxes…I hate, hate, hate this style of design and it seems to be everywhere now. This is ugly now and will be hideous in 25 years.

  • Much better that trying to make a bad copy of the old houses. Height looks a bit weird firt, but it does sort of match with/step up nicely to the tall building on the right. Windows could have been more interesting to add a bit of “rhythm” and “flow” to the design.

  • Who cares if it matches or not? This city has enough “Victorian” townhomes anyways.
